FillDay ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the FillDay Chrome extension and website at fillday.app.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you create an account:

• Email address — used to identify your account and communicate with you
• Password — stored securely as a hashed value; we never store your plain-text password
• Billing information — handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your credit card details

The FillDay Chrome extension also stores the following locally in your browser (Chrome sync storage):

• Your bell schedule configuration (period names and times)
• Your school name
• Your authentication token (to keep you logged in)

This data stays in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers except for the authentication token used to verify your subscription.

How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your FillDay account
• To verify your subscription status when you use the extension
• To process payments through Stripe
• To send you account-related emails (e.g. trial ending reminders)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising.

Canvas Data

The FillDay extension interacts with your school's Canvas LMS to read course section names and set due dates on assignments. This interaction happens entirely within your browser — no Canvas data is transmitted to FillDay's servers. We only read and write data within your own Canvas account on your behalf.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Stripe — for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy
• MongoDB Atlas — for storing account data securely in the cloud
• Render — for hosting our backend server

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription and request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days. To request deletion, email us at stanford_jon@hcde.org.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including password hashing, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and secure cloud storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

FillDay is intended for use by teachers and educators. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on fillday.app.
